It was all done within three days and we were extremely happy with the quality of their work, their professional approach to the job, and the time they took to ensure we were fully aware of what was going on and how the system worked. We have since employed Laser Plumbing Newcastle Central again to give advice on solar hot water systems and to install an evacuated-tube system at his recommendation. Dreaming of a plumber who understands you need your place water wise and who has the skills and imagination to deliver what you need on time and within the specified budget? It took me years to find Ian from I Am Eco, without a doubt the best "can do", lateral thinking plumber in the Lower Hunter. Next to my 100 year old house is an ancient "well" - more a water tank carved out of the bedrock and covered by a concrete dome - which had long since fallen into disuse. With an estimated 25,000 litre capacity, it made sense to fire it up to provide water for the gardens, so long as the job wasn't too expensive. I asked countless plumbers. They all looked at me as if I were mad and then ran a mile. Not Ian. He already understood these old wells, having restored one already, so he designed a solution that was far superior to anything I had imagined, quoted a reasonable price, and then did the work quick smart. If I didn't tell you the well was plumbed, you would never know, a beautiful job. Then Ian braved my heavily pitched roof and neatly capped a couple of old chimneys - one with a flue in it - secure solutions that blend into the house and solve a leakage and heat-escape problem that was driving me nuts. When it came time to install a toilet with low water use, who else would I ask but Ian? And while he was at it, he installed a permanent solution to the maddening, intermittent leak in the laundry ceiling that had defeated a number of plumbers before him - when Ian fixes something, it stays fixed. Why do I like I Am Eco? Well because the prices are fair, the work is top notch and on time, I value attention to detail, the solutions are as green and as imaginative as you like, and I really appreciate professionals who get back to you when they say they will.
